Town of Brookhaven Senior Services

The Town of Brookhaven  Senior Citizen Division continuously focuses on providing programs and services that not only meet the needs of senior residents in Brookhaven Town, but also provide an avenue to meet other members of the community and engage with each other socially. Please see the many programs offered by our division in the list below.

Senior Clubs

Residents and taxpayers of the Town, age 60 years and older, are welcome to join one of over 18 Senior Citizen Clubs that meet at various locations throughout the Town. 

Clubs provide social interaction through activities, luncheons, special events and trips.

How to Join

There is no charge to join a club. Interested seniors are welcome to attend as many clubs as desired. Once a resident attends a club for three meetings, they must become a member to continue attending that club. Proof of residency and age are required. To join, call 631 - 451 - 9191.

Rose Caracappa Senior Center

This beautiful center opened in 2008 as the Town's first dedicated Senior Citizen Center. The center hosts the Town's Nutrition Program, and two Senior Citizen clubs. Evenings, the center is the venue for a variety of events for Town residents. View a photo gallery of the center.

Activities

Located at the junction of Route 25A and Patchogue-Mt. Sinai Road (Route 83), it is the setting for a wide array of activities such as:

  • Book discussion

  • Bridge

  • Card playing and Mah Jongg groups

  • Classes for exercise

  • Line and ballroom dancing

  • Exercise classes

  • Reiki

  • Sing-A-Longs

  • Woodcarvers (experience not Necessary)

  • Yoga

Cost

There is no charge to visit the Center and residents are welcome to drop in any time it is open. Many of the events and activities are free or have minimal fees.
