Longwood Hiking Club Overcomes the Weather!
The Longwood Hiking Club showed their love for hiking this month by going on two hikes despite rainy forecasts and washout conditions. Their perseverance and dedication to their hobby are admirable, and they serve as an inspiration to others who share a love for the outdoors. Hiking is a great way to stay active and connect with nature, and the Longwood Hiking Club proves that it's never too late to start exploring the world around us.

The first hike on Saturday, April 15, took place at Blydenburgh Park. Despite cloudy skies and intermittent showers, the group hiked over 5 miles around Stump Pond. The beautiful scenery and fresh air made up for the less-than-ideal weather conditions. The Longwood Hiking Club proved that they are a dedicated group of hikers who won't let a little rain get in the way of their love for the outdoors.

However, the second hike of the month, planned for Sunday, April 23, at Brookhaven State Park's Long Pond and Green Trails, had to be postponed due to washout conditions. The group was quick to act and sent out an email to all those who had RSVP'd, notifying them of the rescheduled hike time for 3:00 PM on the same day.
Despite the postponement, the Longwood Hiking Club didn't let this minor setback discourage them. When the time came for the rescheduled hike, everyone was eager and ready to go. The group explored the beautiful nature of Long Island, taking in the sights and sounds of the park. The fresh air, exercise, and beautiful scenery made for an unforgettable experience.

Hiking provides a wide range of benefits, both physical and mental. It's an excellent way to stay active, reduce stress and connect with nature. The Longwood Hiking Club is a group of individuals who share a passion for hiking and the great outdoors. Their dedication to their hobby is inspiring, and they show that with a little determination and flexibility, nothing can stop them from getting out and exploring.
