About the event

The Friends of St. Patrick are pleased to announce that the 71stannual  Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled for Sunday March 12, 2023 starting at 1:00 PM sharp.  It is with great pride that the Committee has named Rocky Point Stop and Shop manager Bob Evans as this year’s Grand Marshall.

Having grown up in Belle Rose, Queens, Bob has deep Irish Roots on both his mother’s and father’s side.  He started with Stop and Shop in 1986 and in 2018 was named manager of the Rocky Point Store.  With the support of the company, Bob has changed the parade culture at the store by hosting a family friendly festival in the parking lot and in the store from 10 am to 2 pm on Parade Day.  There are many give aways, free food and raffles that make it a fun and exciting event.

In the weeks leading up to the Parade, Bob promotes the raffles and raises much needed money for The Friends of St. Patrick.  Last year, $7,000 was raised through raffles and donations at the store.

Bob’s leadership at Stop and Shop benefits other worthy community charities, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital and the SCPD’s 7th precinct Thanksgiving Dinner giveaways.

The community is invited to celebrate and honor Bob Evans by attending the parade, and certainly encouraged to go to Stop and Shop on Parade Day between 10am and 2pm and enjoy the festive, friendly atmosphere.  Participation in the raffle sales is encouraged and appreciated.

Mark your calendar for June 12,2023 when the Friends of St. Patrick will host their annual “Nine and Dine” golf outing at Middle Island Country Club.  More details to follow.
